Workshops and Classes

Scattered Arts Members offer a variety of classes and workshops. If you would like to learn a new craft have a look at what is on offer. If you don’t see what you are thinking of please get in touch and we will endeavour to assist you. Enquiries can be made by emailing admin@scatteredarts.com.au with your details and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Each class cost varies and they run for approximately 2 hours. In some instances include all materials. Payment is required at the time of booking.


Pauline Stevens

Tantilising Teapots with Pauline Stevens

Using re-cycled 2 – 4 cup sized teapots and transparent glass beads you will create a feature piece for your garden. All components are supplied with a selection of teapots and coloured beads for your selection. Suitable for beginners. BVAC, 140 Weller Rd, Tarragindi. (Please note the teapot size is smaller than previous workshops, price and time is applied accordingly).

Printmaking for Beginners with Tamara Shaw

Ever wanted to learn how to print? I will show you how to carve a rubber block (a new version of linocut and easier to carve) and print your carving on paper. After an enjoyable and fun couple of hours, you will be able to take home a couple of prints, a carving (approx 10cm x 10cm rubber block), and a carving tool to carry on the creativity at home! All materials provided.

Creative Textile Art Group with Pat Jefferies

If you love fabric and art and would like to join a fabric art class come along to our group. We will use fabric to create/upcycle items into something that will be funky, creative, and beautiful.

Coiled Basket Workshop

Learn the mindful art of creating Textile Coiled Rope Baskets/Bowls.
In this fun, and relaxed class you will learn introductory techniques and construction skills to create colourful bowls, baskets, or planters made from used upcycled fabrics.
Class includes demonstration and discussion of:
• fundamental tuition
• suitable fabrics
• stitching technique
• how to start and finish a basket off.
At the end of the class, you will have the skills and requirements to complete your creative piece!

Papier Maché Lantern Making

Participants will learn how to use papier maché to construct a small paper lantern which can be lit with micro fairy lights or a real candle in a glass. Students will also learn how to decorate a lantern with real pressed flowers or paper serviettes.
At the conclusion of the class, the participants will have a finished decorated lantern and another lantern to take home to complete.

Charm Bracelet Workshop

In this class, you will learn the skills required to make your own charm bracelet, attaching components in your choice of colour and theme. Some ideas include sewing, travel, garden, animals, or birds. The bracelet is a mix of gold, silver, copper, antique gold, and gunmetal. Pauline’s lampwork beads also feature in this design. All materials, tools and tuition provided. You will finish your charm bracelet in class and leave with a beautiful custom piece.

Denim Flower Workshop with Wendy Goode

Create a special denim fabric flower pin or clip with a beaded centre Choose from a variety of colours to suit your individual style. Colours include indigo denim, black, cream, red and more.
Basic hand-sewing skills are an advantage, however not essential.
Enjoy making an individual fashion accessory which can be worn as a pin on clothing, attached to a handbag, or worn in your hair. Includes tuition, all materials and equipment needed.

Pauline Stevens
Earring Making Class for Beginners with Pauline

In this workshop you will learn the techniques to create three pair of earrings. One pair will feature Pauline’s handmade lampwork glass beads. All tools and components are supplied along with a choice of colours.

Knitting and crocheting are useful skills to learn, enabling you to make rugs, bags, accessories, and useful objects.

Beginners Nuno Felted Scarf Workshop

In this workshop, you will learn foundation wet felting by making and taking home your own piece of wearable art. You will be guided in the layout of your Nuno scarf using silk, merino wool, and embellishments. All felting materials will be supplied on the day, You will just need to bring 1 or 2 old towels. The class number is limited to ensure each participant gains the most from this learning experience.

Pauline Stevens
Jewellery Skills with Pauline Stevens

A beginner’s class on how to use jewellery/beading tools. Pauline will show you how to complete a piece of jewellery to take home. Advanced classes are available on request.

Bag or Book Workshop with Wendy Goode

Produce a handy denim tote bag or denim notebook cover using fabric printing, applique, beading, and basic machining techniques. Sewing machine available for your use during class. Includes all materials for this workshop.

Watercolour Painting with Maria Field

Watercolour Painting – with Maria Field – all levels welcome, the emphasis is placed on developing skills to compose your own paintings. Materials are not included and a list will be provided when you book.
